How to calculate or estimate damages for defamation of character?? Reply: Very straight forward way to gauge self valuation; 1. Calculate general damages. General damages are those involving a loss of reputation, embarrassment, shame and emotional distress. 2. Calculate actual damages suffered by the defamation. If the defamation results in loss of a job or contract, the plaintiff can easily add up lost assets as a result of the injury 3. Request punitive damages before Court. In general, the civil justice system is not designed to punish parties, only to reimburse them. Damages are meant to make the plaintiff "whole" again. Illustration: Recently Hon’ble SC refused to interfere with a Mumbai High Court order under which Times Now News Channel has been asked to deposit Rs 20 Cr. in cash and to give a bank guarantee of Rs 80 Cr. before its Appeal against a Trial Court award of damages of Rs 100 Cr. to a former Apex court Justice Mr. P B Sawant could be heard. [However I am more interested to know who sponsored the then Justice mr. P. B. Sawant defamation case Court fee of Rs. 1 Cr to begin with or was via some mechanism it was waived off by some invisible consortium in operation !!!!] Pointer: Court fee for civil action would be calculated as per advelorum fee on the claim amount as provided under relevant State Court Fees Rules. BTW if this author's que. relates to alleged allegations of 'impotency of husband' then a Court awarded Rs. 2 L to husband after wife's wild allegation of impotency of husband was proved false. govt., court must empower local Panchayat to solve the problems or form Ombudsman type of body which can resolve such petty issues without long drawn litigation as well as without allowing relations to deteriorate. .....Alok

Since it is your building I assume that you can do painting on the building. Paint the following on the balcony or door. " I don't pay rent" or "Mofatiya.".. I hope they won't mind as they are getting their door or window painted for free. For illegal car parkers...try to make a nest or feeding place for pigeons just above the parking area so that they have their cars treated with the finest poop.

  जिन   इलाकों   में   चुनाव   होने   हैं  ,  वहां   नए   राशन   कार्ड   के   वितरण   पर   सरकार   ने   रोक   लगा   दी   है।   इस   बारे   में   नागरिक   एवं   खाद्य   आपूर्ति   विभाग   ने   राशन   कार्यालयों   को   आदेश   जारी   कर   दिए   हैं।

 16  जनवरी   को   जारी   इस   आदेश   में   चुनावों   के   दौरान   मतदाताओं   के   पहचान   और   पते   की   तस्दीक   के   लिए   राशन   कार्ड   का   इस्तेमाल   न   होने   देने   के   लिए   चुनाव   आचार   संहिता   के   दौरान   नए   राशन   कार्ड   जारी   करने   पर   रोक   लगाई   गई   है।   हालांकि   नए   राशन   कार्डों   के   आवेदन   स्वीकार   करने   पर   कोई   रोक   नहीं   लगाई   गई   हैं।   सरकारी   आदेश   में   राशन   कार्यालयों   को   स्पष्ट   आदेश   दिए   गए   हैं   कि   आचार   संहिता   खत्म   होने   के   बाद   ही   नए   राशन   कार्ड   जारी   किए   जाएं।   यह   आदेश   सभी   राशन   विभागों  ,  विभागीय   आयुक्तों  ,  जिला   कलेक्टरों   को   जारी   किया   गया   है।

  बता   दें   कि   हाल   ही   में   उल्हासनगर   में   कांग्रेस   अध्यक्ष   सोनिया   गांधी   और   उनके   परिवार   के   नाम   एक   बोगस   राशन   कार्ड   लावारिस   पड़ा   मिला   था।   इस   खबर   को   एनबीटी   ने   प्रमुखता   से   छापा   था।   इस   खबर   के   छपने   के   बाद   कई   स्तरों   से   यह   सवाल   उठने   लगा   था   कि   अगर   सोनिया   गांधी   के   नाम   पर   फर्जी   राशन   कार्ड   बन   सकता   है  ,  तो   किसी   का   भी   फर्जी   राशन   कार्ड   बनाकर   चुनाव   में   बोगस   मतदान   के   लिए   इस्तेमाल   हो   सकता   है।

  इस   आदेश   में   यह   भी   लिखा   है   कि   राशन   कार्ड   केवल   सरकारी   राशन   की   दुकानों   से   राशन   लेने   के   लिए   ही   वैध   दस्तावेज   है।   इसके   अलावा   अन्य   किसी   काम   के   लिए   इसका   इस्तेमाल   नहीं   किया   जा   सकता।   यह   सूचना   राशन   कार्डों   पर   भी   छापी   गई   है।   इसके   बावजूद   कई   सरकारी   महकमे   पते   की   तस्दीक   और   पहचान   पत्र   के   रूप   में   इसे   मान्यता   देते   हैं  ,  जो   गलत   है।

Matter of the first floor common expenses and upkeep was considered.

Shri I. C. Jain had come before the meeting to convey his inability to attend the meeting and also suggested that responsibility of above work be given on yearly basis in rotation to each resident family. It was agreed unanimously by those present.

“Shri I. C. Jain be and is hereby given the above responsibility for the accounting year 1^st April 2011 to 31^st March 2012.

Besides several other works the main works are:

1.  Dealing with water dept., receiving and making payment, repairs and upkeep of water meter, and water meter box.

2.   Dealing with Reliance energy with regard to common electricity meter, receiving and making payment of power bill, maintain common wiring and bulbs and tubes.

3.  Dealing with sweeper, keeping common toilet and passages in good condition.

4.  Maintaining common utilities like common doors, grill, support bars.

5.  Maintaining common sewage lines, rain water and drain water issues or other necessary activities which Shri B. L. Tholiya was looking after for over 30 years.

6.  Making slips of division of expenses and collecting same from residents of 1^st floor.

Dear Friends,

My last letter was given to all persons. All the persons except one signed the letter.

As you all see and know I have to my best capacity worked for common upkeep and common work for over 3 decades as a honorary member. Now at 88 years of age I am unable to carry on and has already intimated that I shall not be responsible for the said work.

Let us meet at my place on Friday 12^th May, 2011 at 7.30 pm and have another person to carry on responsibility.

Hope you will all attend. If you want to change the time then kindly decide amongst yourself and let me know.
